~*~ One Discharged The Other Admitted ~*~

Just came back from sending Mummy, Sara and Nurul home... and yes we drove back again cos tmw we would be fetching them before going to the hospital... and yes again... Papa was just discharged on Fri afternoon and on Saturday afternoon, grandpa got admitted into TTSH. *siGh* What's happening to our family? The only 2 men in the family are taking turns to be admitted... I keep thinking and asking myself what's wrong? Have we done anything wrong? What have we not been doing? What have we done to cause such things to happen to us...

Went back to hougang and after lunch we brought grandpa to TTSH's A&E waited for abt an hour or so before he was able to get admitted... during this time we were waiting outside and saw so many emergency cases and pple coming in via ambulances as well... but something happened that reali got my blood boiling... when grandpa was waiting to be admitted, I asked mummy to let Nurul wait there with grandpa and then we can go for coffee... so she checked if 2 pple could go in to the A&E area but was told that only 1 accompanying person could be with the patient as they didnt want too many pple walkin in n out of the area as they were afraid of contamination n such... fair enaf that we can understand. So she exchanged her tag so that Nurul could get hers n be with grandpa...

However, as it was Nurul's 1st time there and she didnt know where to go to look for grandpa, mummy asked the security personnel if she could accompany Nurul in to show her where to go n to make sure that evythings alright before comin out again as she would be stayin at the holding area. Instead of being tactful and polite in his manner of answer, that blardy swine of a security jus said and I quote "No No cannot only 1 person can go in. We cannot allow more than 1 person to wait with the patient. You think this is a Sunday City Walk is it?"

Wah when my mum heard this her blood reali boil sia... of cos at that time we were not with her or rather I was not with her... we were still waiting for her at the waiting area or else I would have definately given it to that asshole... She was so fedup with his reply and asked the security how was she to know if her maid knows where to go and doesnt get lost in the holding area... she needs to make sure evything is ok and that her maid is with her father-in-law! And again that swine jus said "No no cannot!". Mummy came back and told us what happened and the minute i heard what she said my blood boil n I was damn fedup...

I told mummy to go to the nurses and ask again... My mum then walked away and went to the screening station near the enterance to talk to the 2 nurses to ask if she could jus go in. Initially, they also said cannot but they explained that they were taking the necessary precautions as they were afraid that there could be contamination n stuffs like tt... so fair enaf but my mum explained her rational for wanting to go in for just awhile and in the end 1 of the nurses said ok but she would have to bring her in and only to a certain area... fair enaf... so mummy went in with her and true enaf, our dear Nurul was standing at a corner and didnt know where to go... lucky thing the nurse allowed my mum to go in or else god knows how long she would be standing there man... in the end mummy passed her grandpa's medicine and left her hp with Nurul and told her to call either Sara or myself in case there was anything.

Throughout this whole time, Garry, Sara and myself were still at the waiting area but we were talkin about that swine... more like i was talkin abt that swine cos i was damn pissed... I mean how could a security personnel reply in such a manner... Who does he think he is? He's just a freaking asshole who is waiting to retire and standing there doin nothing jus makin sure that only visitors with a wrist tag goes in. How the blardy hell would he know how many visitors per patient was walking in and out of the damn place? There was no checking done anyway... what kind of security personnel was he? Or rather what kind of security check was there?

Damn it... the more i recall the more du lan i get sia... If they say only 1 visitor per patient cos they are afraid of the germs, bateria or contamination that pple would bring into that area, then what about those cleaners, police officers, hospital helpers and civil defence personnel? Are they not walking in and out of the area the whole day? Are they not carrying with them germs, bacteria or contamination with them as well? What?! Jus bcos they are wearing a uniform or have a hospital tag on a lanyard around their neck or a stethoscope hanging around somewhere means that they are an employee of TTSH or a person of authority and can walk in and out freely? What kind of rationale is this? So can I simply conclude that if I have a uniform, hospital pass or some equipment hanging on me means that I can also walk in n out that area freely?

Blardy fucking asshole... I was so pissed I told Garry that I will be writing in formally to lodge a complaint. Is this how a representative of TTSH speak to a visitor/patient of TTSH? Is this what we are paying for with the increase in medical fees, for medicine and workers of the hospital so that hospitals could employee such tactless and rude secruity personnels who stand there just to occupy a space within the hospitals vacinity? When Garry heard that I was going to lodge a complaint, he asked if any of us had a pen and we said no. Before I knew what he was going to do, he immediately stood up, walked towards that asshole and stood directly in front of him and looked as his face, then his hospital tag and then back at his face and after that simply walked away. Wahsay! Sara and myself was shocked initially as we didnt know what he was going to do. Then we started laughin as that asshole had a really blur n worried look on his face after Garry walked away.

Though I was still fedup I couldnt help but laugh at that expression. When garry came back I asked where he went and he said to find for a pen cos he wanted to write the name of the person down. In the end, he recorded that assholes name and time into his handphone. It was such a waste that I didnt have my cam with me or else I will surely zoom and take a pic of the ass! I guess that asshole can wait to receive a call from his supervisor after I'm done lodging my complain. I would definately want an explaination and corrective measures to be implemented by TTSH over this incident. This sort of behaviour from any staff should not be condone. Is this the kind of service that TTSH provides?

After this whole incident, we decided to go to Ah Seng's place for kopi and to eat something... as usual, we ordered Milo peng and Kopi peng... also ordered the char kway teow and hokkien mee to share... the hokkien mee not bad... chilli nice oso... jus when we were finishing, Nurul called to inform that grandpa is being wheeled to a ward... wah this time so fast... so we drove back to TTSH again... when we were walkin past where tt asshole was standing to check on the ward and bed number that grandpa was admitted into, we were surprise to see that the asshole was no where to be found. Good riddence to him man!

This aside, after grandpa was admitted and checks done by a junior doctor a interns, they suspect that there is a blockage in his large intestine that's causing the bloatedness around his stomach... they had to insert a tube from his nostril down into his stomach so that they could suck the fluid out... Obviously he felt pain and discomfort during that ordeal and as usual he shouted at the nurses who were trying their best to make it less painful n all... *siGh* thank god there were understanding and knw that this is part and parcel of what they have to encounter.... I salute them man...

Anyway doc said that only after the fluid has been sucked out can they insert something... i cant recall the name from the bottom to make him pass motion n drain whatever that is stuck in there... once the bloatedness and blockage has been taken cared of, the next thing they want to do is to check why he has constipation and has to keep taking Senokot to enable him to pass motion... *siGh*

The whole process of this must be damn painful as they have to insert a scope into your rectum to check... either that or they have to insert smething so that an x-ray of the rectum and colon can be taken to check if there is any growth or cancer around that area. *siGh* Poor thing... why must an old man go through all these... I'm sure grandpa must be scared... he was supposed to do this check the last time he was admitted but he insisted that he didnt want to cos I think he's afraid of the pain and wateva the results are but i guess there is no running away from it for him this time round....

Why why why must so many things happen over a short period of 2-3weeks!?! One after the other... =( I really pray and hope nothing is wrong with grandpa... One sick person in the family is more than enough for us to handle... I can't imagine if there would be another... worried that all these complications that grandpa is having could be a result of colon cancer or something along that line... Another worry at the back of my mind is someone else's bood test results... which would only be out around the last week of October... Hopefully evything turns out ok... and not be another Big bday present for both of us man... 1 such "Bday" present in September is more than enough for any of us to cope with...
